How to close your Maclear investor account: what happens to active investments?

To close your Maclear account, contact support@maclear.ch. Before submitting a closure request, make sure you have withdrawn all available funds — only funds that are not currently invested in active projects can be withdrawn. If you have active investments at the time of closure, they will continue to run until the loans are repaid according to their schedules.

If you would like to exit active investments earlier, you can list your positions on the secondary market — keep in mind that secondary market sales depend on buyer demand and are not guaranteed.

What happens to my data after account closure?

After account closure, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with Maclear's Privacy Policy following the legally required retention period of at least 10 years, as set out in Maclear's Terms and Conditions, article 2.11. Until then, all data remains confidential and will only be shared with AML/TF authorities upon an official request submitted to Maclear.

Why is my data retained for 10 years after account closure?

The 10-year retention period is a legal requirement under AML/TF regulations and applies regardless of the reason for account closure. This is not a Maclear policy decision — it is a statutory obligation applicable to all regulated financial intermediaries.

Can I reopen a closed Maclear account?

Yes. You can reactivate a closed account within the data retention period (10 years). To do so, contact support@maclear.ch and provide a selfie with your identity document.

How to restore access to Maclear if you lost your 2FA code

Recovery from a lost Maclear 2FA code depends on your 16-digit backup key. With the key, re-add the account in Google Authenticator and codes resume immediately. Without it, email support@maclear.ch with a selfie holding your ID — the team unbinds 2FA within 1–5 business days, after which any method can be set up again.
