Form A is a one-time compliance document required by Swiss financial regulation. It confirms that you are the beneficial owner of the funds you invest on Maclear — meaning the money belongs to you personally and you are investing on your own behalf. The form is sent via email after your first investment and must be signed electronically through Skribble before any further investments can be made. It is a one-time document — you sign it once and it covers all future investments on the platform.

By signing Form A, you also undertake to inform Maclear of any changes to the beneficial ownership of the invested funds, and you authorise Maclear to disclose your identity as beneficial owner to banking partners when required for compliance purposes.

Providing false information on Form A is a criminal offence under Article 251 of the Swiss Criminal Code (document forgery).

Until Form A is signed, you can make one investment but no further ones. AutoInvest also remains unavailable until signing is complete.

What does Form A look like and what fields does it contain?

Form A is a short one-page document generated with your personal account details pre-filled. It contains the following fields:

  • Account number (your Maclear MC number)
  • Last name, first name
  • Date of birth
  • Citizenship
  • Residential address and country

Below the personal details is the declaration text confirming beneficial ownership, the obligation to notify Maclear of any changes, and the consent to disclose your identity to banking partners when required. The document is dated and requires your electronic signature through Skribble.

The full title of the document is: Establishment of the beneficial owner's identity (Form A according to §18 and §19 Regulations SRO PolyReg).

What can I do on Maclear before completing POA and Form A?

The platform becomes progressively available as you complete each verification step:

  • After KYC only: you can browse the platform and view the Overview section.
  • After POA: you can deposit funds, withdraw funds, make your first investment, and access your referral link.
  • After Form A: full access — all investments, AutoInvest, and secondary market selling are unlocked.

What is Skribble and is it safe to use?

Skribble is a Swiss-based electronic signature provider compliant with EU and Swiss digital signature regulations. Your Form A signature through Skribble is legally valid and securely stored.

What if I did not receive Form A after my first investment?

Check your spam folder. If the email is not there, contact support@maclear.ch — the team will resend the form.

What if the personal details in my Form A are incorrect?

Form A is generated automatically based on the data submitted during verification. If the address or other details are incorrect — for example, due to an error in how Sumsub read your document — contact support@maclear.ch. The team will correct the data in the verification system and generate a new Form A with the updated information.

After completing personal KYC, send documents to support@maclear.ch. KYB takes 1–2 business days, and all accounts are screened against international sanctions lists; PEPs cannot register.

Which countries are supported for Maclear investor verification?

Maclear is available to residents of 44 European and EEA countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Residents of countries not on this list cannot complete KYC or access the platform's investment features. Eligibility is determined by country of residence, confirmed during identity verification.

Why did my Maclear verification fail and how to fix it?

Maclear verification typically fails for one of three reasons: a document that is expired, blurry, or has cropped corners; a selfie obscured by glasses, a hat, or poor lighting; or a submitted scan or screenshot instead of a live photo through Sumsub. Most rejections are resolved by retaking the photo on a smartphone in good lighting and resubmitting immediately.

What documents are required for Maclear verification: ID, proof of address, and scan rules

Maclear verification requires two document sets: identity (passport, national ID, or residence permit — valid and not expiring within one month) and proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, tax bill, or active lease issued within the last 3 months, showing full name and residential address). Identity verification is completed first; proof of address unlocks deposits and investing.
