Maclear deposit is late or missing: step-by-step troubleshooting checklist

If your Maclear deposit has not appeared, the most common causes are: the standard SEPA processing window has not yet elapsed, the transfer was sent without a reference number, or the sending account name does not match your Maclear investor account. Standard SEPA deposits take 1–3 business days; transfers without a reference number take up to 4 business days.
Step 1: Check whether the processing deadline has passed
Standard SEPA transfers reach Maclear's banking partner within 1–3 business days. Once received, funds are credited automatically the following business morning. This means the total time from sending to seeing funds in your account can be up to 3 business days under normal conditions.
If you sent an incoming Instant SEPA transfer via your bank, note that "instant" refers to the bank-to-bank leg only — Maclear still performs mandatory AML compliance checks on every incoming transfer before crediting funds, which can take up to 2 business days. If you used SEPA Instant via your personal virtual IBAN, funds typically arrive within minutes including AML processing — if your deposit has not appeared, contact support@maclear.ch.
Transfer type | Bank-to-bank | AML check | Typical total |
SEPA Instant (virtual IBAN) | Minutes | Minutes | Minutes |
Incoming Instant SEPA (bank-initiated) | Minutes | Up to 2 business days | Up to 2 business days |
Standard SEPA | 1–3 business days | Up to 2 business days | 1–3 business days |
Transfer without reference number | 1–3 business days | Up to 2 business days | Up to 4 business days (manual) |
If the applicable window has not yet closed, no action is needed. Return to this checklist once the deadline has passed.
Step 2: Confirm your reference number was included
Every Maclear deposit must include your personal deposit reference number in the payment details field. For example, Deposit to account No. MC10007. This number is displayed in the Deposit section of your Maclear account.
Without the correct reference, the transfer cannot be matched to your account automatically and is routed to manual processing, which adds up to 4 business days to the timeline. If you forgot to include it, proceed to the section below.
Step 3: Verify the sending account name
Maclear only accepts transfers from bank accounts registered under the same name as your Maclear investor account (General Terms and Conditions, section 3.4). If the name on the sending account does not match, the transfer will be rejected and returned to the sender. Check your bank confirmation to verify the account name before contacting support.
Step 4: Confirm the beneficiary name in your transfer
When setting up the transfer, the beneficiary name must be set to Maclear AG — not your own name. If the beneficiary field was filled in incorrectly, contact your bank to check whether the transfer was executed or returned.
I sent a bank transfer to Maclear without a reference number — what happens?
Transfers without a deposit reference number cannot be matched to your account automatically. In this case, the transfer is processed manually, which may take up to 4 business days. If the funds are still not credited after that period, prepare a Transaction Statement confirming the transfer — a PDF document showing the transfer amount, date, sender and recipient details, and transaction reference — and send it to support@maclear.ch. The team will trace the transfer and credit it to your account.
You can download a Transaction Statement from your bank's online banking platform or mobile app.
My deposit has not arrived after 3 business days — what should I do?
If 3 business days have passed and the deposit is still not visible in your account, send your payment confirmation or Transaction Statement (PDF) to support@maclear.ch. Include the transfer amount, the date it was sent, and your Maclear account reference number. The support team will trace the transfer with the bank.
Why does Maclear perform AML checks on every incoming transfer?
As a regulated financial intermediary under Swiss law, Maclear AG is required by the Swiss Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) to screen every incoming transfer before crediting funds. This applies to all transfers regardless of amount or speed. The checks include: sanctions screening (verifying the sender is not linked to sanctioned individuals or jurisdictions), name match verification (confirming the sending account name matches the verified investor identity), and source of funds review. These checks are carried out in compliance with AMLA, PolyReg SRO regulations, and FINMA Circular 2016/7.
What is a Transaction Statement and where do I get it?
A Transaction Statement is a PDF document issued by your bank confirming that a transfer was executed. It shows the transfer amount, date, sender details, recipient IBAN, and payment reference. You can download it from your bank's online banking portal or mobile app. When contacting Maclear support about a missing deposit, always attach this document — it allows the team to trace the transfer with the bank.
