Company verification on Maclear (KYB): required documents and process

Legal entities investing on Maclear go through KYB (Know Your Business → Article 12) verification — a more detailed process than individual KYC. It covers both the company itself and the individuals behind it, including the company representative and beneficial owners (UBOs → Article 12). To start KYB, send the required documents to support@maclear.ch — the support team will guide you through the rest.

To complete company verification (KYB), start by completing your personal KYC verification through Sumsub. Once KYC is done, contact support@maclear.ch and submit the following documents:

  • Passport or national ID of the company representative
  • Extract from the commercial register confirming the right of representation or signatory authority
  • Proof of company address (e.g. recent utility bill or bank statement)

The support team will review the documents and contact you with any additional requirements specific to your company's jurisdiction or structure.

PEP and sanctions screening: what it means for Maclear investors

During registration, all investors — both private and corporate — confirm that they are not a Politically Exposed Person (PEP → Article 12). Maclear does not onboard PEPs — if you hold or have held a prominent public position, such as a government official or senior executive of a state-owned company, registration on the platform is not available to you.

All accounts are screened against international sanctions lists as part of Maclear AG's AML compliance obligations under Swiss law. This applies to investors, company representatives, and beneficial owners. If a match is identified, access to the platform may be restricted pending review.

How long does company verification take?

KYB verification typically takes 1–2 business days after all required documents are submitted. Timelines may vary depending on the completeness of the documents and the company's jurisdiction. The support team will keep you updated throughout the process.

Regulatory disclosure: Maclear AG, registered in Switzerland, member of PolyReg SRO, a self-regulatory organization supervised by FINMA.

What is Form A on Maclear: when to sign it and what it means

Form A is a one-time Swiss compliance document confirming you are the beneficial owner of the funds you invest on Maclear. It is sent by email after your first investment and signed electronically through Skribble, a Swiss e-signature provider. Until Form A is signed, you can make one investment but no further ones, and AutoInvest stays unavailable.

Which countries are supported for Maclear investor verification?

Maclear is available to residents of 44 European and EEA countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Residents of countries not on this list cannot complete KYC or access the platform's investment features. Eligibility is determined by country of residence, confirmed during identity verification.

Why did my Maclear verification fail and how to fix it?

Maclear verification typically fails for one of three reasons: a document that is expired, blurry, or has cropped corners; a selfie obscured by glasses, a hat, or poor lighting; or a submitted scan or screenshot instead of a live photo through Sumsub. Most rejections are resolved by retaking the photo on a smartphone in good lighting and resubmitting immediately.

What documents are required for Maclear verification: ID, proof of address, and scan rules

Maclear verification requires two document sets: identity (passport, national ID, or residence permit — valid and not expiring within one month) and proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, tax bill, or active lease issued within the last 3 months, showing full name and residential address). Identity verification is completed first; proof of address unlocks deposits and investing.
