How to complete identity verification on Maclear: process and timeline

Identity verification on Maclear is handled through Sumsub — a global identity verification provider used by thousands of financial and fintech platforms worldwide. The process is fully online, takes a few minutes to complete, and does not require sending any documents by post or email. The result is typically ready within 10 minutes of submission.

  1. Prepare a valid identity document: passport, national ID card, or residence permit.
  2. Select your document type and country of issue.
  3. Scan the QR code to continue on your smartphone.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and photograph your document — make sure all corners are visible and the image is sharp.
  5. Take a selfie as instructed to confirm authenticity.
  6. Submit. The review starts automatically.

Browser and device requirements

Verification requires a device with a working camera — smartphone (iOS or Android) is strongly recommended. If completing verification on a desktop, you will be shown a QR code to continue on your phone. Most modern browsers are supported; for best results use the latest version of Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.

How long does KYC verification take on Maclear?

Typically up to 10 minutes. If your submission is not accepted, you will be notified immediately with instructions on how to resubmit.

What happens after KYC is approved?

Once KYC is approved, you can proceed to Proof of Address (POA) verification, which unlocks deposits, withdrawals, and your first investment.

Can I use a passport from a non-EU country to verify on Maclear?

Yes. Maclear accepts passports issued by any country, as long as the document is valid and you are a resident of one of the supported countries. Your passport's country of issue does not need to match your country of residence. For the full list of supported countries, see Article 17.

What if Sumsub rejects my document — can I retry the same day?

Yes. In most cases you can resubmit your documents immediately after a rejection. If you are unable to proceed after retrying, contact support@maclear.ch with a description of the issue and any relevant screenshots — some rejection types are determined by Sumsub's compliance checks and require manual review by the support team.

Does Maclear accept expired residence permits?

No. All identity documents must be valid and not expiring within one month at the time of submission. An expired residence permit will be rejected during verification.
