If you cannot log in to your Maclear account, the cause is usually a forgotten password, an incorrect 2FA code, or lost access to your email or authenticator app. Most login issues can be resolved without contacting support — this guide covers every recovery path available on Maclear.
Forgotten or incorrect password
Go to the Maclear login page and click "Forgot your password?" Enter the email address linked to your account. A password reset link will be sent to that address — follow it to set a new password.
If the reset email does not arrive, check your spam folder and confirm the address you entered matches the one on your account. If you no longer have access to that email address, see the email recovery section below.
Incorrect or expired 2FA code
The 6-digit code in your authenticator app refreshes every 30 seconds. If it expired mid-entry, wait for the next code and enter it immediately. Make sure your device time is set to automatic — incorrect system time is the most common cause of invalid codes. On your smartphone (iOS or Android), open Google Authenticator and go to Settings → Time correction for codes. Confirm you are using the code for the correct account if multiple accounts are bound to your app.
After five incorrect 2FA attempts, the account is locked for 2 hours. No action is required — access resumes automatically after the lockout period.
How to recover access if you lost your 2FA code
If you saved your 16-digit backup key during 2FA setup, you can restore access yourself. Open Google Authenticator, tap "+" and re-add the account using the saved key. Delete the old entry to avoid confusion — codes start generating immediately.
If you did not save the backup key, contact support@maclear.ch and send a selfie holding your passport or national ID. After identity confirmation, your 2FA will be unbound within 1–5 business days. You can then set it up again and choose any available method.
For full instructions, see How to restore access if you lost your 2FA code.
How to recover access if you lost access to your email
Contact support@maclear.ch and send a selfie holding your passport or national ID. The support team will update your email after identity verification — typically within 1–2 business days. Once your email is updated, you can use the standard password reset flow described above.
For full instructions, see How to change your email address.
What happens if I lost both my 2FA access and email access at the same time?
Contact support@maclear.ch and send a selfie holding your passport or national ID. The support team handles both resets sequentially — email is updated first, then 2FA is unbound. The full process takes 1–5 business days from the point identity is confirmed. Do not create a second account — multiple accounts are not permitted under Maclear's terms.
My password reset email has not arrived — what should I do?
Check your spam and junk folder first. Make sure the email address you entered on the reset page exactly matches the one linked to your account. If the email still does not arrive after a few minutes, try the reset again. If you no longer have access to that email address, see How to change your email address this Article.
Can I log in to Maclear without 2FA?
Yes. 2FA is optional on Maclear. If you have not enabled it, your account is protected by password only. If 2FA is active and you cannot generate a valid code, you must complete the recovery process described above before login is possible.
