How to change your password on Maclear

You can change your Maclear account password directly from Personal Settings while logged in, or reset it from the login page if you have forgotten it. Both options are available at any time and do not require contacting support.

How to change your password while logged in:

  • Click your profile photo in the left sidebar.

  • You will be redirected to Personal Settings.

  • Find the Change password section.

  • Enter your current password, then set and confirm your new password.

  • Click Set New Password to save.


    • How to reset your password if you forgot it:
    1. Go to the Maclear login page.
    2. Click "Forgot your password?"
    3. Enter your account email address.
    4. A password reset link will be sent to your email.
    5. Follow the link and set a new password.


    What are the Maclear password requirements?

    All Maclear passwords must meet the following criteria:

  • Latin characters only

  • Minimum 8 characters

  • At least one uppercase letter

  • At least one lowercase letter

  • At least one numeric character

  • At least one special character


    • The platform displays a password strength indicator during setup — aim for a strong rating before saving.

    What if I no longer have access to my email?

    If you cannot access the email linked to your account, contact support@maclear.ch and send a selfie holding your passport or national ID. For guidance on email recovery, see Article. If you have also lost access to your 2FA codes, see Article.

    Maclear supports only one active 2FA method at a time — either the authenticator app or email, not both. The system is built around a single-active-method architecture to keep the authentication flow unambiguous and recovery paths clear. To switch, email support@maclear.ch for a reset; identity confirmation typically takes 1–2 business days.

    How to restore access to Maclear if you lost your 2FA code

    Recovery from a lost Maclear 2FA code depends on your 16-digit backup key. With the key, re-add the account in Google Authenticator and codes resume immediately. Without it, email support@maclear.ch with a selfie holding your ID — the team unbinds 2FA within 1–5 business days, after which any method can be set up again.
