How to set up AutoInvest on Maclear: step-by-step strategy guide

To set up AutoInvest on Maclear, open the AutoInvest section in the left navigation panel, click "Create Strategy," fill in the required fields — strategy name, investment amount (minimum €50), interest rate, and loan term — then enable the strategy. AutoInvest requires completed POA verification and a signed Form A before it becomes available.

Before you start: AutoInvest is available only to investors who have completed both POA verification and signed Form A. If either step is missing, the platform will prompt you to complete it when you open the AutoInvest section. Both are one-time compliance requirements under Swiss financial regulation — once done, they stay valid for all future investments.

Step 1 — Open AutoInvest

Go to the left navigation panel and click AutoInvest.

If you have no strategies yet, you will see a "No active strategies yet" screen. Click Create Strategy to open the strategy form.

Step 2 — Fill in Basic Settings

The form opens with two sections: Basic Settings and Advanced Settings. Start with the basics.

Strategy name — required. Give it a name you will recognise in the strategy list later.

Investment Amount (€) — set a minimum and, optionally, a maximum amount per project. The minimum allowed value is €50.

Interest Rate (from %) — the minimum interest rate a project must offer for your strategy to apply to it.

Loan Term (Months) — set a range for acceptable loan duration.

Risk Level — optional. Default is All Types. You can select one or more specific risk levels. This field is only available in Basic mode and becomes unavailable if you enable Advanced Settings.

Countries — optional. Default is All Types. If you select All countries, new countries added to the platform after October 16, 2025 are included automatically. If you select specific countries, the list is fixed to your selection at the time of creation.

Project Types — optional. Default is All available types. Same logic as Countries: selecting All types auto-includes new project types added after October 16, 2025.

Step 3 — Configure Advanced Settings (optional)

Toggle on Advanced Settings to access three additional risk filters. When Advanced Settings are enabled, the Risk Level field in Basic Settings becomes unavailable — the two modes are mutually exclusive.

Maximum Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DE) — measures total liabilities divided by shareholders' equity. Range: 0.2 to 4.0. Lower value = lower risk. Default: 0.2.

Loan-to-Value (LTV) — measures the loan amount divided by the collateral value. Range: 40% to 200%. Lower value = greater collateral coverage.

Credit History — a borrower reliability score from 6 to 10. Default: All. Set a minimum score to filter out borrowers with weaker repayment records.

Skip projects with my existing investments — if enabled, the strategy will not invest in projects where you already hold an active position. Useful for spreading exposure across more projects rather than concentrating in the same ones.

Step 4 — Set Minimum Balance

When you create your first strategy, a modal window appears asking you to set a Minimum Balance threshold. This is a global AutoInvest setting — it applies to all your strategies. When your account balance drops to or below this threshold, all strategies pause automatically. They resume on their own when the balance rises above the threshold. The default value is €50.

Step 5 — Enable and save

At the top of the form, there is an Enable after creation toggle:

  • On — the strategy is created with Active status and starts participating in AutoInvest immediately.

  • Off — the strategy is saved as Inactive. You can activate it manually later from the strategy list.

  • Click Save. A confirmation popup appears — confirm to complete setup. You are then redirected to the strategy list where your new strategy appears.

What if multiple Maclear projects match my AutoInvest criteria at the same time?

Projects are activated sequentially, not simultaneously. AutoInvest places your defined investment amount into each matching project as each one goes live. Funds are not split between projects opening at the same time — each project gets a separate allocation when its turn comes.

If you have multiple active strategies with overlapping criteria, both can invest in the same project. A warning is shown when you activate multiple strategies to flag this. You are responsible for your strategy configuration.

Why did AutoInvest not invest in a specific Maclear project?

    Three common reasons:

  • The project was fully funded before your position in the allocation queue.

  • The project parameters did not match your strategy criteria.

  • The project was not marked as AutoInvest-enabled by the Maclear team. AutoInvest applies only to standard projects with Open status; African Consumer Loans (ACL) projects are excluded.

One additional rule: if you create a strategy after a project has already gone live, that project is not included in the strategy's queue. AutoInvest only applies to projects that open after your strategy is active.

How many strategies can I have, and how do I manage them?

You can create up to 10 strategies. Multiple strategies can be active at the same time. To deactivate a strategy, toggle its status in the strategy list. To delete it entirely, click the delete icon and confirm — your investment history remains intact after deletion.

Crowdlending involves risk, including the possible loss of capital. Past performance is not a guarantee of future returns. Invest only what you can afford to lose.

How to add or change your bank IBAN for Maclear withdrawals

Maclear doesn't allow manual IBAN entry — a new account registers itself through an incoming deposit. Any amount qualifies, including a €1 test transfer (the €50 minimum applies only to investment deposits). Once the sender name matches your profile, the IBAN auto-appears in the withdrawal dropdown. Previous IBANs stay listed — no limit on verified IBANs.

Why did my Maclear verification fail and how to fix it?

Maclear verification rejections usually trace to document quality (expired, blurry, cropped, photocopied), unsupported types (only passport, national ID, or residence permit accepted), or selfie issues (poor lighting, glasses, low resolution). Most cases resolve by retaking on a smartphone in good lighting and resubmitting immediately. Driving licences and neobank statements aren't accepted.

What documents are required for Maclear verification: ID, proof of address, and scan rules

Maclear verification has two parts: identity (KYC) and proof of address (POA), processed via Sumsub. Accepted ID: passport, national ID, residence permit — valid and not expiring within one month. Accepted POA: government, utility/telecom, bank, or lease documents from the last 3 months. Neobank statements need manual review; photocopies are always rejected.

Can I use Wise, Revolut, or a neobank to deposit funds on Maclear?

Maclear accepts SEPA deposits from Wise, Revolut, N26, and other neobanks on the same terms as traditional banks — same-name account required, €50 minimum, 1–3 BD processing. Once credited, the IBAN auto-registers for withdrawals. Neobank statements are not auto-accepted as Proof of Address — contact support first if it's your only POA option.
